This appears to generate much less heat than the Seagate that was in the laptop prior to. Seems to be a slightly smaller form element -- it fits my laptop greater than the Seagate. Doesn't come in 7200 RPM version. But that's possibly to be expected for the older ATA6 technology. Replaced a 100GB 7200 RPM Seagate that was starting to go undesirable (clicking). Even although this drive is 5400 RPM I'm content with it.

Draws half the present of my old laptop HDD.At least twice as quick as my old laptop HDD.3x the HDD space of my old laptop HDD.Quiet & cool. Haven't run it extended enough to evaluate reliability. New anti-malware packages produced my old P4 laptop boot slow as a dog. Approach Explorer identified the IBM Travelstar HDD as a choke point. Laptop boots at least twice as quickly with the new WD HDD, very pleased with obtain.

Utilised wd's Acronis True Image to clone my old drive. Hadto set laptop on side to get old drive to run, but it clonedand functions better then the original Toshiba drive ever did. none Acronis Correct Image is not simple to use, but the moment youfigure it out it functions.

Decent RPM quite fantastic for secondary HDD's if you have a dual slot Laptop in no way showed any issues on installed i just slipped it in slapped XP on it and it just says Hi ^_^ None this is ideal they place alot of Detail into Protecting the HDD and i thank newegg for that

Applied this drive to upgrade a buyer technique that had a dead HDD. It worked perfectly and is substantially quicker than the drive it replaced. Highly suggested! It doesn't install itself. Massive!!!!!!!!!! step from orginal 40G. No issues; no complaints. Latop runs substantially quicker. Does exactly what I need it to do.
