Excellent price for a 3TB drive. Fast sequential read and write performance, although random performance suffers from the lower 5400RPM. Works well as a storage drive in conjunction to an SSD. Low idle and seek noise. Makes an intermittent seek noise at boot. Would buy again. |

Great drive when used in a NAS. Have being using two of these drives in a RAID 1 running 24/7 for the past 2 years in a Synology DS 212+ Not much more to really stay except that I'm very pleased with the product. For a home or small business this is an ideal drive. I keep a 3rd drive as a spare of which has not been used and just collects dust. If anyone is looking for a great NAS, you won't go wrong with any of the Synology products, blows Drobo and pretty much anything else out of the water. The firmware is (OS) is Linux based, so solid and safe! |

I tried connecting this to the Intel ICH10 controller on my mobo. BIOS shows it as a 801.6GB. Why? Don't know. I have a few other WD 2TB Green drives connected to the same controller, and they are all recognized just fine, so I expected that this one will also be seen as at least a 2TB drive. But no, it only shows as 801.6GBWill return it and get a 2TB drive instead. |

WD has established a more then reliable name in manufacturing disk media. They spent a lot of time building a good name and and work hard to protect that name. knowing this I buy WD drives with confidence I am getting a device I will be happy with.Every hdd is going to fail at some point but WD drives in reasonable usage conditions relay do consistently hit the advertised MTBF numbers. If they say this drive will last on avgrage 1,000,000.0 hours "fictional number" it really will along as you give it the operational conditions suggested on the website. |

Just a note, check the warranty on WD's site when you get your drives. If it's incorrect, contact their support, and send them a copy of your invoice. They'll update the warranty time based on time of purchase.
