Bought this to replace an old 350gb 5400rpm spinner, purchased on basis of everyone saying how fast it was. As soon as I installed it I was disappointed, the seeking heads on this thing chunk and chatter to no end, it honestly sounds like my old WD 40MB HDD from 1994. Plus the speed was not an improvement over the 5400 spinner I replaced it with, at least it wasn't noticeable really. The size is nice and I will never use the 1TB of space but the sound is so annoying that I am currently looking for a quite drive to replace it with. This is my last WD drive, will stick with Seagate from now on. |

Cons:Unfortunately mine died about 2 months into getting it and had to RMA it through WD (Did manage to get my stuff back some how.)

Not a whole lot to say, but overall pretty good product despite getting a faulty one. Western Digital did however replace it with a 2TB Black which was awesome. |

I picked up this 1TB WD Black for a client build, I always use western digital hard drives in my client builds and personal builds because of their quality and reliability. I have used Seagate Hd's in the past and everyone I have own has failed within a year. If your looking for the best performing consumser grade mechanical hard drive the WD Black is the one to get. |

Well I picked this HDD up to use for game capture and video game sotrage and so far I am VERY pleased with it, it's very fast and reliable and WD Blacks are widely considered to be some of the faster and more reliable drives available today. NCIX did a great job packaging this drive for shipping and I mean GREAT JOB. The price match only took like an hour to be approved and I received the order at my front door in exactly 24 hours. So far so good, if that changes I'll update this review. |
