Cons:
- 2 TB is only 1862.89GB of storage (GPT partitioning)- Takes long time for a full format (not really a weakness, mainly a side-effect of the size).
Pros: - Very Fast- Lots of storage capacity |

Cons:
none
Pros: fast and reliable Comment:
I needed a couple of good hard drives for office PCs and these perform nicely. |

Cons:
None that I can find.
Pros: Very fast drive and relatively quiet operation. Comment:
Bought this for my new system build. This harddrive sits with my OCZ Vertext 2 SSD in my system. Since the SSD makes no noise at all, I can say that this harddrive's operating noise is very good. Aside from that, it really fast. I can recommend this to anyone looking to build a high performance PC. |

Cons:
A little on the noisy side
Pros: 64MB CacheFast for a platter based HDD Comment:
Installed this drive on a new build for most games, apps and my pagefile (SSD is boot drive). Used 1TB Seagate 7200.11's on old build and this drive is a lot faster. Will be using these drives for all my drives for now on. |

Cons:
None I can think of
Pros: Fast driveLoads XP in less then 10 secondsAlot of space Comment:
Bought this drive to replace my 1TB Black that was making grinding noises sort of like the person under me complained about and actually got this on sale for $170 so I'm sure you can price match it for a little lower then $199. Overall I love this drive, just search the net for bench marks and this drive performs with raptor drives, even does better in some bench marks which is shocking. Anytime I need a main drive I think I'll be going with the WD black 2TB from now on, love the drive, love the speed. |

Cons:
Price per gigabyte not competitive with Caviar Green Needed to RMA Mine (not too sure about reliability, although it could have just been a bad luck of the draw)
Pros: It is a very fast hard driveHigh capacity Comment:
Had to RMA Mine after I began hearing strange grinding noises back to WD. It is a pretty fast hard drive; not SSD speeds, but still very impressive. I would buy again and I think that overall, it is a better drive than the Barracuda XT (plus WD has a better RMA policy overall). |

Cons:
Runs a little hot and noisy.
Pros: Fast harddrive Comment:
This is probably the fastest harddrive for the time being. Of course those SSD is way faster, but you cannot get a 2TB SSD for the same price. One disadvantage is that it could be a little noisy when seeking. |

Cons:
Cost
Pros: PerformanceCapacityLow noise and heat Comment:
It may not be as fast as an SSD, but for what it is this is a great drive. I moved from the 1TB model and noticed even quicker performance. I barely hear the drive and it runs fairly cool, at least in my experience anyway. |

Cons:
lower price would be nice :)
Pros: Fast drives great for RAID operationWD support Comment:
Bought a pair of these for a Raid setup (mirror) and the read wrtie speeds are great.I had one drive go bad, but WD provides an advanced replacement option that they sent me a new drive which then I used the packing box to return my defective one back to them. You cover the return shipping cost.So although I had one go bad, the customer support by WD was a nice experiance to help with my over all satisfaction with this drive.I have had many Seagate and WD drives over the years this was my firsy dud from WD. 2 so far from Seagate |

Cons:
Seems to get hot while under heavy file transfer.
Pros: SIZESpeed of this drive.warranty Comment:
I've transfered everything from my old computer to this one. Using 120gig ssd with this Hdd, perfect setup for me. Do seems to get a little hot while under use. Maybe get a fan near by to cool this badboy. |

Cons:
- lots of vibration
Pros: - 2TB of storage- one of the fastest non-SDD drive Comment:
drive are very very fast and as long as you can isolate the vibration from the drive, it can operate very quietly |
Bowmah@NCIX Rating: Review Date: 08/16/10 |
Cons:
Cost is still a bit high
Pros: Large storage capacity, faster than 1TB black Comment:
Faster than 1TB counterpart. In a WHS machine, getting 90-100MB/s transfer rates between 2 hard drives. About the same temp as 1TB counterpart. Love the large storage but find that prices are still a bit high. At the moment when it's on sale, per TB pricing is about the same as the 1TB counterpart (black). |

Cons:
Price
Pros: Large capacity, fast access, run cool Comment:
These drives are excellent choices if you are looking at having a lot of capacity while not sacrificing performance. Clearly they cannot compete with the speed of SSDs, but in terms of traditional hard-drives they are at the top of the pack. I currently have 3 in a RAID and couldn't be happier about them. |
Got this drive instead of the new SATA-3 variant (WD2002FAEX). I did not really care for SATA-3 since I do not think even this fast drive needs or can utilize SATA-3 speeds (heck even SATA-2 may be a stretch). It had very solid reviews while the newer SATA-3 version was still not reviewed and there were no reliable comparisons to make sure nothing else was changed in the design aside from the SATA interface upgrade. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase. I am using it for data storage (windows profiles, games, etc) and the speed is amazing. Games load faster than ever, and read/write operations are much faster. I have an SSD for my OS/main apps, so this was a nice companion to make the best out of my new SandyBridge build.Despite some disappointments with some WD products in the past (failures, etc), I still highly recommend this product. Their RMA service is excellent in case anything happens, just hope it never fails, and if it does, that they are not out of refurbished units.
