Whistler - PI-400W - DC to AC Power Inverter with Surge Control

Bought it for an extended tenting trip out West and used it to recharge cell phones, laptop, and even make coffee. The only warning is to make sure that all the things you intent to run do not excede the wattage, in this case 400. I learned to read all those labels attached to the electric items.

Comment:
The inverter was purchased to replace a 150 watt one that came bundled with a 60 watt photovotaic set. Blade type fuses make it certain they can be replaced if needed. Those for the previous inverter were not available in the hinterlands. Definitely a great value. Will try it on my next trip to the country with no question that it will work, but unable to give it a 5 on performance until I try it.

I have used it to power my laptop in my car and boat it easly handled the job and I plan to use it to power my laptop this fall during bean and corn harvest.

I bought a queen size air mattress for tent camping and needed a method for inflating with the mattress's attached inflation device. I plugged it into the inverter which was in turn plugged into the car cigarette lighter. The mattress inflated in about four minutes. The inverter worked perfectly.

Before I bought this Inverter I went to the products home wabsite and was shocked at the MSRP by the Whistler company. It is much more then you'll pay for the exact model on this sitet. I did have some concerns about the ability to charge my Netbooks battery's which were unfounded. I purchased the 400 watt with this in mind, I am able to run(and charge the batterys)for my netbook (HP MINI-NOTE 2133) and use an older notebook (GATEWAY MODEL M305CRV)with a battery that is dead and is drawing constant power and the inverter working under a constant load for over one + hours using both 110 volt outlets stays cool using the cigarette lighter adapter. I am very pleased with this product and am glad I went for the over kill in wattage now knowing I can use it for much more then I bought it for!
