Comment:
This has got to be one of the worst scanner packages I have ever dealt with. For one the scanner does not duplex (this is not mentioned in their add). Secondly, Xerox should be shot for this software. Paper Port is slow, cumbersome and documents often get lost. I have no idea where or if the scanned documents are being saved. Xerox wants big bucks to upgrade to their Pro version of Paper Port. If it's anything like version 11 which ships with PP, stay away. |
I purchased this for our small office. The unit is small, especially with the trays folded up. The main body feels solid and sturdy. The unti can easily be opened to see pretty much the entire interior. The top feeder doesn't support the sheets on the sides too well by the sheets seem to feed pretty straight anyway. The bottom tray doesn't have side supports or a lip at the end (understandable when dealing to a light, removable tray and variable paper sizes) but this means that pages coming out can push other pages crooked or away. I was a bit confused between the different software, Nuance ScanSoft PaperPort, OneTouch, and Kofax VRS. I didn't find it very clear on how to set up the One Touch functions and when I did find out I had to play around with the settings for a while before I figured out how they worked together. The OneTouch software appears quite powerful.
