Low-cost (Now)Plays current games like BFBC2 on all higher settings without having a dilemma Catalyst handle center still flakyI had some installation problems with the HDMI audio driver (Which I don't use, but everytime I boot, Windows want's to set up the audio driver)(In basic ATI software package appears flaky, but the core driver is OK) Fantastic card for the price tag, watch out for the problematic non-core drivers and software package.

When working this card was awesome. Big upgrade from my On board Intell chipset. Second card went in and began up no issue clean simple ready to go. 3 cards came in defective. Initial card didn't start off correct away first attempt to start out it fan ran total speed no signal. Shut off the machine and started yet again worked. Worked fine for two days then locked up my entire technique. Had to reset my CMOS to get signal to even go to my On-board yet again. Second card got it in 2 weeks later. went in and worked wonderful very first shot. Enjoyed it all weekend 3 days later woke my pc for power-saving mode. and it wouldn't respond had to reset to CMOS Yet again to get it to do anything. RMA'ed that one and got my 3rd on in less then a week later. This a single didn't even respond at all period. was DOA. RMAed it now just waiting for my refund. When the card worked it worked great no complaints and was worlds superior then my onboard. Wish it would have worked out. Hope to have better luck subsequent time. Neweggs consumer service lives up to its expectation and reliability always stick with newegg!

This card has been really dependable and seems to handle all my media center wants well. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stares is due to the fact i haven't tested it for gaming because this pc construct was just for media center makes use of

value(after rebate), 1Gb DDR3 No fan sensor, can't be overclocked. Uninstalled CCC 11.two and loaded 10.6 on the CD that came with the card. Was in a position to get 700 GPU clock and 1180 on the memory. So it seems that XFX was wrong, it is the new 11.2 drivers that don't let overclocking.Nonetheless shows for the fan speed.

Comment:
Quite decent card; I usually change VGA cards when a decent card come down to less than ุ range and thsi card surely fit my bill. It performs effectively so far. 3dm2k6 score is ᡄk which is quite great compared to my old 8600GT. Noise level from fan is pretty low- so no complain there as nicely. By the way, packaging was fairly great but there was no further goodies as properly. This card is Large for no excellent reason. I had to pull of my USB3. addon card from PCe1 slot. It has piece of metal bar attached at the leading side for "show" purpose. Even following that, I hate the fact that this card could have been smaller sized. It does not have dual DVI, but HDMI fills that gap.

Ummm less then 贎. Enough stated. 800 SPU, 256 Bit, GDDR3 and Only 1 6-pin needed. Also XFX has a lifetime warranty on all there products None seriously, It does need that further small bit of power from the 6-pin, but not truly a con sense this card is more strong then an HD 5670 or HD 5770 and those cards are in the similar price range and much more. The only function that the HD 4850 doesn't have that the HD 5000 series has, is the DX 11. But even the HD 5670 / HD 5770 struggle with DX 11 settings. So I don't care about the DX 11 feature. I don't personal this card but but I am going to build me a new desktop and this is the card I decided on. I looked at the HD 5670's and HD 5770's, but kept coming back to this card. Trigger its more affordable then those other people and is atleast twice as effective. Its a NO BRAINIER.

Out of all the video cards this 1 has entirely blown me away in each and every way. The packaging box, materials, and so on was best notch. I bought this video card when it was on sale for ๜ plus i got ฮ mail in rebate on best of that, so for the money i have invested its just awesome. The biggest con for me is the lack of directx 11 support. This video card is two generations old so i cant hold it against to significantly. This video card even though being dated has lots of horsepower for 1920x1080 gaming with most settings turned on/high (not ultra) I bought this video card with Newegg's DIY quad core combo 跁 + this video card for ฾ soon after rebate. 3dmark06 score with no overclocking is 12,517. Globe of warcraft on high settings 1920x1080 vertical sync enabled gets 60fps, minimal fps around 45 operating through city. For the price paid i cannot say sufficient fantastic issues about this combo!

Like other reviewers have said, this card rocks even at the highest settings. Keeps my Phenom X4 and my Zalman fan really quiet because the GPU is carrying out most of the operate. Wonderful value too, specially if the rebate in fact comes via. none For playing Dragon Age at the highest settings I had a Radeon X1950 which is a excellent card but I could tell my Phenom x4 CPU was operating overtime due to the fact the Zalman fan was nearly screaming at occasions. Now it just whispers along.

1 GB of memory, runs relatively cool, simple install. None. This card was an upgrade from a 4830 512 MB card, I don't fully grasp how so many folks right here claim to have nightmarish experiences putting in some of this stuff, and most of them claim their ability to be high or somewhat high, most of the RMA's I've had were due to shipping damage, if your card is crashing soon after installation there's a fantastic opportunity you almost certainly did a thing incorrect.

Quickly. I can play fairly a lot almost everything I personal on Steam with higher + AA + AF and get in the 40s FPS. Power. This card needs a fantastic 15a just itself. I have a power provide with dual 28A 12V rails and it the power coils on the card buzz quite loud on specific games. A friend of mine bought a PSU with a 50A single 12V rail and he gets no more buzzing. So please think about that ahead of you get. Aside from the energy troubles, this card is exceptional for the cost, even without the rebate. I paid the non-rebate price and am extremely content with it. It plays Rift on higher and only lags in higher-population places. It plays L4D2 with everything maxed @ 1440x900 like melting butter. Borderlands plays really effectively with max settings and AA + AF.

Straightforward to Overclock - Overall performance Cant be beat for the existing value! This card pulls it's weight. It's repeatedly compared to the 8800gtx for instance, but draws less than 2Ǚ the power. I can't at present say wether this card out performed my 8800 ultra due to the fact I also had a gtx carrying the weight of phsyx when I tested , BUT this 4850 did take care of AA quite well. I tested with only the 4850 installed. I ran GTA4 @ 1800x1440 at max detail that I could set with the 1gb of video memory, and max AA as effectively as maxing out any settings I could in Catalyst Manage Center. GTA4 benchmark showed 33.5fps avg each end outcome. I run GTA4 from the SSD as properly but I am restricted a bit in performance due to my 4gb mem and no swap file. This is to give you a realistic concept as to what you may anticipate from the card. Crysis did bring the card to a crawl at my max res (to be expected) but with a res of 1024x768 or 1200x1024 with max particulars it gave excellent fps for combat. My specs beneath. I purchased mine the day Before they started the rebate promotion. Fail :( I was concerned at very first because I could not adjust any fan or clock settings with the most recent drivers & CCC but when I uninstalled, and just installed what was on the cd as a test, these settings would then transform. I'm confident it's some thing in my setup but if you have this difficulty give that a shot.My temps for this card have ranged from 93FችC idle'ish to 110FኇC max under load but I also have the Ultra Kaze 120 @ complete speed blowing upward from bottom of Haf932 case towards any gpus. I can't comment on the sound of the 4850, given that I can't hear anything more than my 120mm fan :PCooler Master Haf932 AMD edition with stock 2x230mm,1x140mm,& 120mm Scythe Ultra KazeAsus M3N72-D (AM2+)AMD Phenom II 965 @stock 3.4ghz x44GB DDr2 800OCZ Agility two SSD 50gbWD Black 640gbWindows 7 Pro 64bit (on ssd)

Built a 軸 program for my brother like this card. Runs good, not as well loud, doesn't take up a lot space, has an astounding warrenty as constantly (thank you XFX) and the rebate is none too shabby at ฮ.Also intriguing to note. Plays WOW (not that I play) on max graphics at about 42 frames common, and plays Crysis two at second highest setting averaging 36 frames. If you employed them in Crossfire-2, it would blow any game out of the matter (assuming the coding was right.) The card fails too draw power and display at some instances, although this could as quickly be a Psu dilemma, and be unrelated to the graphics card. I feel it prevalent to say that the card gets five eggs *assuming* that it is not the cards fault. If it is however, my respect level will drop markedly. I'll be testing it at Ender's Laptop or computer shop when my brother comes to town subsequent and I'll update this post. Benchmarks better than the GTS 250 1GB, the GTX 450 1 GB, and then 9800 GTX+. The very best efficiency for the value at sub 贄, following the rebate, sub ๛.

Just read response from XFX tech saying the fan doesn't have a sense wire and this card doesn`t have adjustable clock frequencies.Purchased it to upgrade my son's 9600gt but he didn't hold it simply because he said it felt slower. Most of the tests I ran they were about even.

Excellent video card for price! โ right after MIR is a lot of bang for the dollar. Even though the card is displaying age it can nevertheless deal with so much. I personal the older reference dual slot design and style XFX 4850 card as nicely. The older dual slot enable you to take away the heatsink and go aftermarket if you wish. Nevertheless this non-reference design and style has "warranty void if broken" stickers on the heatsink screws. So if you had been planning on installing an aftermarket heatsink such as the scythe dual fan (for a far more silent develop), I suggest you appear elsewhere unless you don't mind sacrificing the great double lifetime warranty (which would be crazy to...)

Greatest bang for the buck I've gotten in a extremely extended time. Runs most games at 1900񦵐 without having a hitch on my Athlon 1055T. The price I got the day before New Year's Eve was INSANE. Major; had a tough time squeezing it into my situation. A small on the loud side when operating at full load. Replaced an HD4670 with this because it was so inexpensive and on sale. Glad I did. Noticeably more rapidly in all games. Going to give my 4670 to my son who will be very joyful with it. If I had the mobo to do it with I would have gotten two and run them in CF.
