I've run ATI 4850's for years, they are a strong Low/Mid Level GPU, that serves my objective. I don't do a lot gaming, instead I use my GPU's for crunching Scientific projects (Boinc) and for the bang for the buck 4850's work effectively for me... My issue is that I ordered two of XFX's 4850 cards from newegg in 1 order and put them in identical machines, (or as close as achievable),Phenom 955 X4's with two Gig technique Ram with identical configs, Catalyst settings are identical maxed out at 700Mg and almost maxed Ram settings @ 1088񲿘 Mhz! ATI CCC 10.6 shows both cards having a Gig of Ram!Boinc configs and projects are identical. One machine is operating a 550 watt PSU and and Boinc shows it as a correct 1034 mg Ram ...the other machine with an identical card and 750 watt PSU, Boinc only shows as possessing 512 mg of RAM, and production verifies that it is indeed a lesser card!! I realize that CCC v10.6 is an older release but the newest version doesn't let me to OC....probably the reason for the update?I've swapped the cards from a single machine to the other and the offender nevertheless shows production as 512mg RAM ( these machines are operating on a KVM so the external hardware are exactly the exact same!!!!)
