XFX Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) HD-585A-ZNDC XXX Edition Video Card
Cons:
ATI drivers as usual
Pros: Fast, quiet, fits my small HTPC case Comment:
I was looking for the most powerful card I could find to fit in a 2U case with a PCI-E riser. This card's length and the fact that it's power connectors are on the rear instead of sticking out the top, made it the best choice. |

XFX Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) HD-585A-ZNDC XXX Edition Video Card
Cons:-Size (it's blocking 2 of my SATA ports right now. Fortunately I have six)-Temperature. This is a fairly warm card, even with the massive HSF that XFX put on it-Noise. It definitely adds some decibleage to my rig, but that's what you expect when you buy something as beastly as this-Factory OC is gimmicky at best
Pros:-Very fast card for the price (Got it on sale for $335). Performance is very close to that of a much more expensive card.-Direct X 10 performance is stellar - haven't had much opportunity to try it with DX11 yet (very few titles using it still). Comment:
Overall I'm very happy with this card, and it costs substantially less than its bigger brothers (the 5870 and 5970). I'm planning to buy another one of these when the price drops and cross-fire em'. I would highly recommend this card as the best bang for your dollar for anyone looking to buy in the $300-$400 price range (too bad you can get them for about $260 in the US). Pair this up with a Core i7 and your rig will be indestructible! :) |

XFX Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) HD-585A-ZNDC XXX Edition Video Card
Cons:No Dirt 2 with it :(
Pros:Very fast and responsive card. Comment:
I've only had my card for 4 days now and so far I'm pretty impressed with it. I can max out all the settings on Crysis at the resolution of 1680X1050 with 4X AA on and still manages to keep a stable frame rate of 30-40fps. Battlefield Bad Company 2 works great with all settings maxed out and using the resolution of 1680x1050 as well. Defiantly a good card for the high end gamer. This is also the overclocked edition (not by much) but I'm sure you can overclock it further than the extra 25mhz they used to overclock. HDMI support is great, drivers seem to work ok. No big issues. |
I ordered this card, but it doesn't look like it will be filled as XFX are no longer shipping the "A" version of this card opting for the cheaper remakes "X" version. If you can get your hands on this card, then you're in luck. Otherwise, just wait for the southern island cards to be released in the next month or 2.
