XFX Radeon HD 7970 Double D 925MHZ 3GB 5.5GHZ GDDR5 2XMINIDP HDMI 2xDVI PCI-E Video Card
Cons:Artifacts after about 2 monthsYou have to pay shipping for a replacement
Pros:The 7970 is a good card for the price Comment:
Got this card about three months ago. Worked pretty well exactly as expected (high performance card) for 2 months.Started showing artifacts about 2 months in. XFX requires the customer pay to have the card shipped back to them, which is the first I've ever heard of that happening (in my experience a company will send you a shipping label and sometimes a box to ship it in).I would have gone with another company's 7970 had I known. |

XFX Radeon HD 7970 Double D 925MHZ 3GB 5.5GHZ GDDR5 2XMINIDP HDMI 2xDVI PCI-E Video Card
Cons:terrible at overclocking, locked voltage control
Pros:Quiet, looks cool Comment:
I think it's a pretty card with the red design on the side (think core edition with 2 fans) and I don't tend to hear it over the rest of my pc when I'm gaming but I haven't been paying the utmost attention either. My big gripe with this card is the lack of overclockability, this card struggles to even run at 1ghz gpu/1500mhz memory which is the stock frequencies for the ghz edition. It doesn't help either that the voltage is completely locked. I guess I can't complain too much for what I payed and the fact that the performance is still stellar, but I was expecting a little more than this. I don't believe it has a dual bios switch either, so this card is likely to live it's life at stock frequencies. |
Bought this to replace two 6870s in crossfire. In Battlefield 4, using "Auto" settings, I was getting 30-50fps with my 6870s when the game set itself to medium. BF4, with the 7970, sets itself to 'high' and the MINIMUM framerate hasn't dipped below 45fps. It runs Ultra with 4xmsaa without a hitch.Definitely would have been nice to have some voltage control, but I still get a decent OC out of it.
