Extremely nice finish, base is good and flat, properly packed..etc. Install is straightforward on an AMD processor, Installed on 65 watt Athlon 64 X2 5200. here is some comparison working with two stock heatsinks and the SD964:The temps in middle column are from older stock HS with thicker aluminum base and I took the time to make the bottom as perfectly flat as is feasible - it is now a mirror, 4 columns:%Load,StockHS,ModStock HS,SD964,54,45,40,50,43,38ᝈ,45,39,37,41,38,36ᜥ,38,37,35;,35,31,29; The SD964 fan speed was aproximately 1Ǚ of the stock cooler - so it is incredibly quiet.... I did have the "butterfly HS" [ other maker all copper HS] at 1 time, which has slightly much better performance, on the other hand it is far more $s"... Minute con: make sure it is centered on the CPU before latching the mount lever. It slides about a bit. Possibly 1 of the very best buys for your $. In my opinion there is no want for a superior performing cooler for a 65watt CPU then this 1. |

Fantastic cooling efficiency on my Q9400. Excellent Fit - I decided to good with this 92mm model due to concerns of the 120mm fitting properly on my Gigabyte UD3P. It has reduced my temps by 15 - 20 degrees whilst running Prime95 for a couple of hours. And Excellent Price. The mounting the fan on the included rubber mounts and the pushpins into the board were both far more tough then it really should be but not a pain. Would have bought a 775 backplace but did not feel like unmounting my motherboard. Excellent stock cooler - Fantastic Cost - The fan is a little loud but will play with the speed later.Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 two.66GHz OC 3.00| Gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p | 4GB G Skill DDR2 800 | WD 1TB Black| Fortron Blue Storm II 500W | X-Dreamer Black Case |

Lately purchased an OEM AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, but I forgot that it wouldn't come with its fan/heatsink. I tried with a stock heatsink I had from one more build and got temperatures of +/- 75C in BIOSInstalled this 1, and temperature dropped to 30C!Incredible because heatpipes are difficult to locate under 30-40$, and shipping was quickly and cost-free! Not seriously cons but...AMD clip was a bit challenging to snap on, little too tight. But that way I'm sur it holds.Fan is LOUD IMO when operating at full speed, but once more I lowered the fan speed to 25% and temp only got to about 35C. Actually glad I purchased this little heatsink, my 1st encounter with heat pipes and I'm really impressed. It's truly low cost for what you get.Wonder if smaller system could operate on passive cooling with this on? |

The HDT design seems like a winner. I do alot of seeking around and reading of reviews before I plunk down my large fat twenty bucks and the HDT style has pretty significantly universally proven itself in tests and benchmarks on a wide variety of platforms. This certain HDT tower is like numerous others of its ilk with the exception of getting incredibly cost-effective. I like Xigmatek and have been pleased with others I have purchased. The unit itself is solid and seems far better constructed than some of other brands I have tried, though there are other brands I just as significantly. For the construct this cooler is going in to, I required some thing a small smaller than the 150mm + HDT fin towers, but I wanted the very same basic, proven style. This Xigmatek fits the bill nicely. I will buy Xigmatek once more, and in all probability this certain model once more. The portion of the heatsink that comes into get in touch with with the CPU surface is substantial - huge sufficient to be really compatible with a Phenom II X4. Not certain about hexacore. Study. Okay, why am I taking off an egg? Xigmatek was thoughtful enough to incorporate a new bracket with the favored bolt-via design instead of tension clips and push pins. This was a smart thought, specifically for the super low cost price and high good quality product. The difficulty lies in their less than thoughtful packaging in including this new bolt by means of bracket. They put the metal bracket suitable on top of the fins and then sandwiched it among these same fins and a layer of styrofoam employed to hold the fan. This pressed the bracket into the fins, bending 1 substantially and denting and scuffing up a lot of others. For those in whom asthetics are nearly as vital in a rig as efficiency, this is annoying to say the least. I was able to bend the most damaged fin back into place (it is still easily noticed) and will put the fan on that side of the unit to assist hid the blemishes. Xigmatek, thanks for the bracket. Revisit the alterations this bracket may well need in packaging. I feel if you are seeking for a great style, a smaller heatsink, and a TERRIFIC value, this Xigmatek need to get extremely serious consideration. If you make a decision not to obtain this model, this similar organization has other really strong products, all priced competetively. I know I will extremely likely obtain yet another Xigmatek and other people ought to not shy away from this one regardless of the little difficulty I had. |

It's a solid built heatink, the fan felt good and it runs quietly. It keeps a Phenom 8650 around 90F and 𞲞F on a moderate load. The fan can be a bit tricky to install, and the clips aren't very secure in my opinion. This is being applied for an office PC that will never ever reach 100% load. It fits with room to spare on a ASUS M4A78-EM. |

This is a wonderful option to the bigger s1283 or other full size tower heatsinks. It makes for a perfect fit in a smaller micro-atx case whereas i previously had other people block the side panel from correctly closing. I have the s1283 and the temperature distinction is so minimal! four heatpipes on here make for great heat dissipation. The fan is amazing at moving air and is made by the same business Lian Li uses in their situations! Mounting as effortless too! put the plugs in the fan holes, then slide onto the heatsink. took me three seconds!Mounting- Some reviewers were complaining the this heatsink didnt come with the AMD Retention Clip.Mine did not as well. It came with the Intel Mounting supplies AND Their บ AMD/Intel adapter bracket! That now permits me to position the heatsink with the fan blowing towards the exhaust case fan and not the powersupply/top of case! And its a significantly tighter fit on my AMD Method with four screws rather of a clip! Good JOB XIGMATEK! system runnin cool without They supply additional fan mounting plugs for you to in the future if you wish add one more fan in a push/pull fashion.Wish it came with another fan haha.and i wish the included TIM was Arctic Silver 5 haha. This will undoubtedly make your AM2/AM3 Method happy!wouldnt you rather screw on your heatsink than clip it on? |

Easy Installation. (Especially if you know what you're performing, or not too)Nice style. Not an eye sore.Cools well on installation. Fins are flimsy (Obviously, they're Aluminum)Wouldn't reccommend the Thermal Compound that comes with it.The fan blows in or out of the PSU, depending on how you have it set up. When I had initially installed this, I was expecting some problems with the K8 clip, but I had no problems what so ever. But, right after I turned on my Laptop or computer, i realized the fan was backwards, but I had already noticed a 5ºC temp. drop. At load, the temp is at my old idle temps. |

May have accomplished its job nicely if not for it's 1 main flaw. Be sure to check the orientation of your clips on your am2+/am3 motherboard before you obtain this heatsink. This heatsink will only allow you to orient your fans in a vertical blowing direction, having it either blow into the top/bottom of your case or into your energy supply. It doesn't allow you to orient it horizontally so that it blows directly into the rear exhaust of most tower circumstances. This major style flaw has me idling a 95W processor at 46 C at native clock speeds in room temperature. Under load, the processor reaches dangerously high temperatures, upwards to the 60s. This style flaw, if anything is its significant downfall. It's lack of versatility in mounting directions makes it a quite poor candidate for cooling even 95W processors at native frequencies. It ruins the airflow of most situations and may possibly also have a opportunity at ruining your processor. If a heatsink fails at cooling, then what is it great for? A incredibly unfortunate acquire indeed. Phenom II x3 720 BESLI x2 GTX 260Corsair 750W2x2GB Gskill |

Remarkable cooling. Was employing a Scythe Katana on my Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz and reaching 77C on Prime95. As soon as I installed this cooler max temp on Prime95 dropped to 54C. Wow. I was hoping for 10C cooler and got 23C. Can't beat this for the price Typical push pin LGA 775 mounting system. One of the factors I bought this cooler was that I wouldn't need to have to remove my motherboard to install it. Accurate, the push pin system sucks, but it works. Another was I didn't want to have to hassle with a 120CM fan and hope it would fit. This is a smaller but incredibly successful cooler! |

This is my second Xigmatek Rifle CPU cooler and I really like them each! There was a part quantity alter between this one and the one I had prior to, but I didnt notice any design modifications. In either case, this is an excellent heat sink, and I sincerely doubt that for the price there is something better (maybe comprable, but not better)! Seriously, I can\'t come up with a con to this. Some people comment that they dont like the rubber pins that secure the fan to the heat sink fins. Mine came with 8 in the box which I assume is in case I break 1, but I didnt break any of the rubber pins at all. I guess I could have applied them to mount a second fan to the other side of the heat sink, but why bother? I do a lot of video encoding with Handbrake. I have a quad core AMD Phenom II that I use to encode DVDs and Blu-Rays to h.264 MKVs. Handbrake will use all 4 cores and run them at or near 100% for the whole time of the encode. You can also batch queue numerous movies at when. I have let my PC encode at 100% for far more than 24 hours straight and with this heat sink and some artic silver, my temps never ever got above 96 degrees F! Sadly, I never ever utilised the stock AMD cooler to compare, but I guarantee you it would have been greater! |

See my assessment below. UserName : jimilee73 I learned of some thing that folks may possibly want to look out for. I've had this thing for about three weeks and currently I removed the stock fan. My intention was to install a lower spinning fan to bring down the noise at full tilt a little. Significantly to my suprise , the heatsink was clogged with dust. It was still cooling , but clogged non the less. Right after a stab at it with a brush , it cleaned correct up. I have now installed filters on all of my vents. The reason I am writing this is to warn folks. An additional 2 weeks and this thing could have stopped cooling and burned up my CPU. Maybe it's just that I live on a dirt road and have pets. Needless to say , I will be pulling the fan as soon as a month to check it. Just some thing to preserve in mind. By the way , the fan was very effortless to pull whilst it was in the chassis. Took all of 5 minutes. I would nonetheless obtain this cooler once again. I'm not certain if other coolers clog up like this one. Who knows. |

Great price, fairly moderate weight and size, outstanding cooling (E5300 overclocked to three.46ghz at < 60C under load), uncomplicated mounting program (no require to remove motherboard from case in order to mount some crazy backplate.) LGA mounting enables for flexible airflow orientation. Fan is excessively and unnecessarily loud by default, but can be undervolted by a number of indicates. Pressure necessary to seat LGA775 pins is fairly high. AMD socket clips permit for only one orientation. Simple install working with the pushpin LGA775 mounting method. The force required is somewhat scary, but at least it has a great amount of tension. I installed the rubber fan mounts on the heatsink, then fan on the heatsink just before mounting it on the motherboard without problems.I did this although the motherboard was installed in an Antec P150 case. One of the pins was awkward to get to, but that's the one I did first (to make it easier.) |
dropped temperatures from 28c to 25-26c at idle, and from 48c to 38c at full load with mx2 tim on an athlon II x4 635 two.9ghz. so yeah it functions far better than stock heatsink. did not come with amd k8 retention clip. had to siphon that clip from the stock heatsink. and it didn't even fit. had to wedge a piece of cardboard among the clip and the heatsink. making use of the retention clip it had to be installed with it exhausting towards the best of the case. did not come with any other mounting hardware to mount it exhausting to the rear of the case. this does not apply to me but it also did not come with the intel push pins. not neweggs fault but would really like an individual from xigmatek to reply to my emails with regards to the mounting hardware.
