Zalman CNPS 14X Pure Aluminum 140mm Ultra Quite Fan CPU Cooler LGA1156 1155 775 AM3 AM2 FM1
Cons:- It's massive and a bit of a pain to install, do it with the motherboard outside the case- Blocks access to some DDR slots (on my Z97-E)
Pros:- Mounting hardware fits well, fan isn't super quiet |

Zalman CNPS 14X Pure Aluminum 140mm Ultra Quite Fan CPU Cooler LGA1156 1155 775 AM3 AM2 FM1
Cons:- Doesn't seem to be as high quality as my old Hyper 212+- Despite the larger size, not sure if it's all that much better than the 212+- Installation could be difficult
Pros:- Large heat dissipation area- Should fit inside most mid-size cases Comment:
Overall pleased with this cooler. Does an admiral job of keeping my hot 4670K OC'ed Haswell at a respectable temperature. Installation was a bit of a pain. Forget about installing this cooler without the whole motherboard removed. For the price, can't be beat. Taking 1 star off because if the Hyper 212 was the same price, i'd just go for that instead. |
I've seen many reviews where people complained that the screws were too short and whatnot. I had to mount it with the board outside my case otherwise I could not get access to some of the mounting screws but everything did fit well. I was able to tighten the hardware properly, not a single issue. Build quality isn't as good as a noctua however for the price it's hard to beat. Keeps my 4690k at 30C idle and
