Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:Too loud at full speed
Pros:Good price when on saleMoves a fair amount of air Comment:
Bought it to replace an older fan from an old case. Used the resistor to keep the noise level down. Works fine. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:not silent
Pros:silicone mounting pins Comment:
Standard 80mm fan, not "silent" as it says in the product description. At full voltage, kinda loud. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:Not quiet unless speed is reduced. Uses a resistor for speed control. /*/time warp/*/ How 1960's is that?
Pros:Moves lots of air at full speed but quiet with speed reducer. Includes silicone fan mounts. Comment:
Not really a quiet fan but it can move lots of air when driven at full voltage. There are much better fans available for quiet operation. Might be worth buying just to get the silicone fan mounts. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:None
Pros:It's a fan. Can't expect it to have a major increase in the performance of your system. But it's silent. Comment:
Its a great addition to the Zalman case. It's quite. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:
-Loud without it!
Pros: -Well priced-Quiet with noiseless connector Comment:
A cheap, standard, no-nonsense fan that works decently. The noiseless connector and silicon pins are a nice bonus. I don't use the connector personally, as I have this hooked up to my fan controller, but I can say that while it's quiet at about half-speed, at full speed it gets pretty noisy. So I recommend using the noiseless connector if you don't have a fan controller. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:
Silicone pins are a good idea, but didn't work for me.
Pros: The noiseless adapter is effective. Comment:
I'm happy with this fan. It was relatively quiet just by itself, and with the noiseless adapter, which lowers the speed by about 1000 RPM, I can barely hear it at all. Even with the lower speed, cooling power is still adequate. I have an Intel 2600K with stock cooling. The processor reached 71.5C under load without a case fan, 65.5C with this fan as a rear exhaust fan, and 68C with the noiseless adapter.I wasn't impressed with the silicone pins. They're a good idea in theory, but unnecessary since with the noiseless adapter, the fan doesn't vibrate at all. The problem is that I couldn't install them simply by pulling on the tips as described in the instructions - when I tried this, I broke one. The only way I found that was effective was by pulling at an angle. This meant it was really really difficult to install the pins in an area of the case where there wasn't a lot of room. When I wanted to change the position of the fan, I couldn't reinstall the silicone pins and switched back to screws, with no increase in noise. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:
I personally find the noiseless connectors pretty useless. I prefer standard screws with maybe a rubber washer for dampening
Pros: Good balance of airflow and noisePrice was right at the time of purchase Comment:
All in all no serious complaints but it's not spectacular either; it's just a standard fan. Works as expected! |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:
no molex adapter :(
Pros: SPEED, QUIET!!! Comment:
Bought 6 of these turbo guys for 3 separate PCs and didn't realize they weren't molex but system fans hehe! Luckily enough I had plenty of system fan ports on the PCs I installed 'em on- temperatures dropped 5-10 degrees Celcius and I still can't hear them i 2800-ish RPM ^_^ Thermaltake has been an old friend to me but Zalman has found a new place in my heart. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:None
Pros:Cheap, quiet fan Comment:
The case connecters are a good idea. I'm using this fan with the quiet mode adapter to draw a bit of extra air into my case and it does the job with no noticeable noise. I can hear my CPU and Power supply fan, but not this one. Would purchase again. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:low quality bearing
Pros:value3-pin silent adapterlong cable Comment:
I buy these a lot, but not for the fan as these are about the most unreliable fans I have ever used, and I have been using many over ~20 yrs of pc repair. This is a sleeve bearing, but I see chronic failures of them, especially if used for high flow applications. The main reason I buy them is for the generic 3-pin "silent mode" adapter, which can be used for almost anything except crazy high rpm / high amperage draw fans which require high voltages just to spin up. In terms of bearing quality, just about anything is better. If you want a quiet 80mm exhaust-only fan that will last, I recommend the Arctic Cooling 3TC which is higher airflow at its peak and is thermally controlled. For intake I've started using ~2000 rpm fans with better quality bearings. I used to use the standard Arctic cooling 80mm, but it's no longer carried here. I've used the Panaflo (excellent but pricey and don't always have an rpm sensor), Vantec Stealth (ok but the double ball bearing is not silent), and most recently a Scythe FDB one. I wouldn't recommend the Scythe sleeve bearing fans either, I have seen premature failure with them as well (high blade density 120mm version). |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:None.
Pros:Quality, good airflow and low noise. Comment:
For a lower cost fan these work very well, the noise is fairly low and if you need them to be even quieter the included resistor adapter does the trick. Quality wise they seem very sturdy and should last quite a while, airflow is good and the added silicone plugs are a nice bonus but even without them they work great. |

Zalman ZM-F1 Plus 80MM Silent Case Fan 1700/2800RPM 20/32DBA 3-PIN W/ Noiseless Connector
Cons:-Silicon tips a bit hard to use at first
Pros:-Quiet-No Screws Comment:
I wanted a silent fan and I got one. Not only is it whisper quiet at the lowest setting(I'm using a fan controller, a Silverstone FP33), it still moves alot of air! At max its loud but the air it moves is pretty incredible. The silicon tips are one of the most creative and innovative ideas I've seen, not only does it reduce noise from the fan moving, it provides easy peasy installation. Just put it though and pull! It was a bit difficult at first since I had no clue what I was doing but after the first one, I thought, wow that was easy! I'd definitely buy more if I needed them! |
