Zotac GeForce GTX 980 AMP! Omega 1202MHZ 4GB DDR5 x3 DP/HDMI/DVI-I DX12 PCI-E 3.0 Video Card
Cons:Triple slot designCooler, though quiet, doesn't seem to provide significant gains over stock.
Pros:Solid constructionGood overclockerDecent third party coolerOne of the quietest coolers I've ever encounteredFantastic performance at 1080p and 1440p Comment:
I purchased this card in October of 2014 and have had a superb experience with it so far. Aesthetically speaking the card is very striking in appearance, incorporating sleek industrial colors into the design. Sitting on top of the card is a beefy triple slot cooler with a hefty aluminum shroud. The cooler is easily one of this card's compelling features, as it is incredibly quiet even under significant loads. The card comes with a decent factory overclock out of the box but can be easily overclocked further if the user desires. Performance is what one would expect from an overclocked GTX 980. The card handles modern games at 1080p and 1440p with ease. I've experimented a bit with 4K, though most recent games are not very playable unless one wants to add a second card in SLI. Anyone considering purchasing this card should note that not only is the card triple slot, but the shroud on the cooler is also taller than normal. When installed, this could create clearance problems in some smaller cases. Though Zotac is not typically a "go-to" brand for NVIDIA products, the AMP Omega comes highly recommended for those who have the space and money for it. |
I'm really loving this card. I've never owned a high-end video card before, so it was quite shocking to see my Fire Strike benchmark score triple after installing it. A month in, still running it at stock, it's handled everything I've thrown at it.Zotac's included OC utility isn't the best, but I don't have much experience with video card overclocking myself, so I'll leave that to someone more qualified to comment on.The card is quite heavy and does sag in my case a bit, but it's also gorgeous.Anyway, very happy with it, it's running great, looks great and cost a great deal of money/
