acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:
Not 7200RPM, Not very mobile (extra power cable makes it clumbsy), Large light on front could be annoying for some people (my gf hates when I leave it on at night *sigh*)
Pros: USB or eSata. Passive cooling. Stays cool. Very quiet. Comment:
Girlfriend bought it for me for a xmas present. Have used it to backup and transfer stuff for the last 2 years, mainly used when reformatting my system (love the feel of a clean OS).I have been very happy with it's performance all this time. Has never disappointed. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:
Excessively fragile.
Pros: Acceptable read/write speed.Stays at low temperature. Comment:
The quality of this external hard drive is good but the intern architecture is a failure. My HDD was mount on the stock base and accidentally flip on the side (10cm drop). It was enough to break the intern circuit. Lose 500 GB of data. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:
Runs a little noisy; plastic drive "seat" is flimsy
Pros: Good price (when on sale); fast data transfer Comment:
Got this drive on sale and am very pleased with it. I transferred over 500MB in two days without any hiccups or glitches. I'm using it as storage for my media player box (Asus OPlay) and haven't had any issues with data transfer or getting the media player to recognize the drive. Would definitely purchase again if I needed more space! |

Cons:

A solid drive for backup storage, cooling is no problem in this case. Happy to see a 7200 RPM drive. Good transfer speeds with the esata. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:None
Pros:Quiet, compact Comment:
Just got my third AcomData 1TB PureDrive external. These things are great! Plenty of storage for a good price and are nice and compact for easy storage and transportation. I do all my work on my laptop so these are really handy.Only issue is that big light across the front being rather bright. I put black electrical tape over 90% of the front light ... just enough light is left visible that I know its working without lighting up my room at night. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:None
Pros:Works in Win7 without any problems, is almost double the speed of my main drives, according to ATTO disk benchmark and is silent when running. Comment:
have tried other externals and have been sadly disappointed, this drive is to be highly recommended, some reviewers have complained about the light on the unit being too bright and distracting, i do not find that to be true. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons: none found yet other then my lack of knowlege.
Pros:price point when on sale. Comment:
Has worked perfectly for me I swap it between 2 machines for backup, I know I could network it but for my situation it is more convenient to do it this way. Has lots of storage but as we all know that is relative and as files get larger so do our requirements for larger drives. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:Acomdata customer service is terrible
Pros:Large storage capacity with both USB 2.0 and eSata capability Comment:
Purchased the drive on sale during one of NCIX's weekly special. Excellent price for the unit (99 dollars) for 1 TB external drive.Drive arrived in less than a week thanks to NCIX's amazing shipping / turn around times...can't say enough about their shipping speeds - Anyhow plugged the drive in and was immediately recognized by the system. Reads and writes data at a decent clip and runs quiet and somewhat cool. Does get a little hot after some time but that's expected for a drive with this this capacity.Had to contact NCIX for assistance in getting my rebate tracked and processed as Acomdata has terrible customer service. After several emails and phone calls (which there was no response from Acomdata) was finally able to get assistance from Chris over here at NCIX. Chris informed me to expect my rebate either end of the month or early March.Keep an eye on your rebate status as I have read about this problem (delay or no rebate at all) on previous posts from customers that have purchased products from Acomdata... acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:-Connections Seem Sloppy-Runs warm-No Supplied eSATA cable
Pros:-eSATA & USB Ports-1TB Comment:
Though I did not put many pros and put more cons; it is a great drive. The connections seem weaker than they should be but nothing major. I know someone who got one and they had to send it back because the cables just fell out on the connection.Overall, it is a fast, reliable and relatively small drive with USB and eSATA. I would buy it again. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-15-09 10:56 PM |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:The LED in the front is extremely bright. It actually illuminates my room enough so that I don't even need to turn on the lights to walk around. (possibly exaggerating a bit, but still, very bright)The speed is NOT 7200 RPM as opposed to the same model I purchased a year ago. It is 5400 RPM. (They covered 7200 RPM on the box with a sticker)
Pros:Slim flat form factor.Decently long power cable. Comment:
I am using this as media storage, which it works perfectly fine despite the speeds. It works fine on my macbook but it still freezes the bootup for me. I have to unplug it from the laptop before it continues booting up. (My external HD, same model, did this also but I am used to it) |

Cons:7200RPM advertised........but feels like 5400-7200RPM at times
Pros:No setup is requiredNice design and very flashy LEDSVery quiet Comment:
A very robust product. Kept dropping it but still works well. Put over 600GB under 48 hrs on it...........no issue whatsoever. Nice design and very quiet drive. Cannot be beaten in under $100 category (when on sale). |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:5400 RPM?!?
Pros:Low price, fast, low-heat, low-noise, 32 MB cache, eSATA, eco-green. Comment:
I just bought one on oct 16 2009 and it is a samsung hd103si. NOT a 7200 RPM 16 MB cache drive, but VERY FAST for a 5400RPM 32 MB cache! I transfer at 80 MB/s (write) in eSATA. I don't know how durable this drive is, but seems good for the price. This review was modfied by poster x 10-30-09 02:42 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 10-30-09 02:23 PM |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:- my drive has a WD 8MB Green Power hard drive so the start up time (before it is ready) is a little slow - write speed of 23MB/s is acceptable but a tad slow
Pros:+ multicolour LED indicates status (blue=ready, purple=busy, red=unavailable) + doesn't get overly warm when used + sturdy metal case doesn't show finger prints and feels substantial + has a cable locking port (same as with a laptop) Comment:
Auto detected by Windows and works well on USB interface. It comes with a stand for vertical usage and also little rubber feet for horizontal mounting. Front status LED is very bright and is full width across the drive. I would've given it 4 stars except for the 24 week delay before receiving my rebate. Overall, I'm happy with the drive. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:long startup
Pros:Quiet; Good looks Comment:
Been using this to backup my PC. Been working great. Only some little hipcups here and there that I suspect is software related. This does have a long startup time that had made me think it crashed when it actually didn't finish booting up. I would recommend not plugging the usb into the PC until you get the solid blue light. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-05-09 02:50 AM |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:-None
Pros:+Fast (E-SATA)+Quite/Cool Comment:
I got this drive for backups and so far it has been great. This drive is quiet, fast and run cool for an external. This drive also has a single voltage power supply with the rest of the guts in the drive enclosure it self. This should make replacing the power supply(or even running it off the computer power supply) easy if I ever need to. This drive is also smaller then other externals I have had, Would buy again for sure. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:Get's kind of hot when transfering files for long periods of time.
Pros:Very high amount of memory and stable. Comment:
Very good 1TB harddrive, I've had it for almost 3 months now and have put over 200 gigs of files on it, and it still works like a charm. The drive stays very cool except when transfering for long periods of time it gets a bit hot, but nothing close to being too hot, it just gets very warm. |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:No Ethernet connection, but I knew that
Pros:Quiet, BIG, low heat, off switch Comment:
My first external drive was an ACOM that I bought over 10 years ago. I can't remember how big it was (20GB?), but it was over $400. It was a great drive that I never had issues with. I just got this drive because it was ACOM and it was only $122 after rebate. So far I'm really happy. I'm doing a huge transfer of data and I can barely hear it on my desk. After over two hours of constant file transfer it's barley warm to the touch. Very happy! This review was modfied by poster @ 06-10-09 03:27 PM |

acomdata 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:-gets kinda hot after long use.- slippery ,don't carry it around. If you do , don't run with it.-No full fledged E-sata port (esata 1.5) . Transfers at 150mbps rather than theoretical 300mbps of standard esata. esata 3.0 that is.
Pros:-Silent-Relatively Slim for its size(storage)-Comes with clear instructions (not that you'd need em') , cd, all necessary wires except e-sata cable.-Works well when plugged into my router (dir-655) Comment:
This is a really good product, handy when wanting to make transfers both small and large, really useful for backing up stuff on when thinking of formatting or some other dilemma.Awesome product , buy it !Don't be a douche and avail the MIRs. |
This little guy served me well for the travels. No disconnects, very sturdy even after tossing it around a bit. I am very happy with this purchase. It even looks great!
