acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:
doesn't come with eSata cable
Pros: Speed, Red-Blue light, eSata port Comment:
I bought this Hard drive for an every day use for a good price. The eSata port is very useful and makes it faster to transfer files (although the cable is not included). The USB port is just practical in any cases (obviously). The blue-red light flashing when the hard drive is reading/writing is very helpful and cool. overall, its a very good hard drive for its price, i recommend it. |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:not a great pvr extender, often has errors when recording
Pros:Quiet, fast transfer rate, on off switch, esata port and usb Comment:
I bought two of these units, one for my pc and one for my pvr. I wouldn't recommend it as a pvr extender but it's great for my pc. I still haven received the mail in rebates though. I don't have high hopes of getting them so I guess I paid full price... |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:none
Pros:Fast and quiet Comment:
Inside of this enclosure is Samsung HD502HJ. It has unbeatable performance and running super quiet. The average reading speed is as fast as 115MB/S. It became standard ESATA Hard drive for our IT program in BCIT. |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:Glitches sometimes on my gaming computer, no eSata cable included
Pros:Low price, runs cool, relatively fast, looks stylish Comment:
Bought this when it was on surprise sale for $79.99 with a further $20 mail-in rebate. That would bring the total to $59.99, which is a great deal for 500GB of SATAII storage. I upgraded from a ATA 160GB Maxtor that I've had for 4 years.Runs relatively fast in USB2.0 mode. Certainly fast enough to transfer ISO and such with ease. It would be great if it had included a eSata cable, but I guess they need to cut the costs. The only gripe is that when connected to my EP35-DS3L motherboard and if I proceed to give Windows a restart command, the drive somehow prevents my computer from restarting with the overclocked setting and instead resets the BIOS to default then restarts the computer normally. At the same time, the drive shows a red light, meaning it was not detected correctly. The problem goes away if I unplug the drive before rebooting. |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:None found yet
Pros:Excellent transfer speed on eSATAGood quality caseGood quality power switch Comment:
I love this drive with it's 500gb capacity. I do tons of HD video editing and I store all of my raw HD footage on this drive. Over eSATA I get an average write speed of 30/MB per second and an average read of 50/MB per second. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for an external hard drive with excellent build quality and blazing transfer rates. I give this drive 5/5 |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:As usual, no esata cable includedThe light bar flashes fairly bright when harddrive is active - I use this next to a tv attached to a mediaplayer and this light is a bit distracting so I pointed it into the corner
Pros:Good price, speed, Esata 2.0 and USBAttractive stand Comment:
Rock solid, the Esata at this price is a plus. The flashing light is a bit much if its in your view. I believe the actual HDD is a hitachi. |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:I bought 2 and one would not mount via USB. I needed to return for new unit
Pros:Quiet, Looks Good, Doesn't overheat Comment:
Overall good product but was disapointed the unit came defective the first time. THe fact that it is quiet and does not overheat are pluses. I will continue to use the unit and hope for the best that nothing else goes wrong. |

acomdata PureDrive 500GB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Cons:gets a little warm but not too hot
Pros:cheap, quite, and so far dependable Comment:
Bought this on sale for some additional storage and backup duties. ESATA seems fast but I do not have anything to compare. So far I would defenitely buy again, particularly on sale. |
Bought this to use with my Shaw Pace DC758D and it worked like a charm and I have a dual tuner PVR now. Would have been nice if it had come with an eSATA cable, but other than that nothing to complain about. If there are others looking to turn their HD box into a PVR, this is the external hard drive to get!
