brother MFC / All-In-One Color Wireless Laser Printer
Cons:Can be expensive to run(more on that later) noisy, big, total beast of a machine, adf always seems to be crooked.
Pros:Quick printing, decent quality, tons of features Comment:
Where to begin, well the machine is pretty heavy duty (literally) and weighs a ton! be sure to put it on something solid. Its a decent performer for a small to medium business, but not recommended for heavy heavy usage. Color prints come out decent and its great for b&w copying but for some reason alot of what you run though the auto document feeder seems to come out crooked. My prime concern is with the cost to run it. It seems to burn through toner faster then it should, and this is a a list of what must be replaced on a regular basis... Toners (4) 70$ for black(2200 pages) 79$ for color (1500 pages) Separate drums for each toner (4)(kit for $200) A belt unit ($100) As you can see this can add up in a hurry, especially if you use it alot. |

Comment:
Quickly Does a poor job printing fine lines on drawingsLinux setup is unsuccessful so farWindow installation did not go well I checked to see if there was Linux support prior to purchasing this printer. I have almost certainly spent 3 hours attempting to get it to work with Ubuntu with out good results. The Windows installation did not go properly either. PaperPort is the software they bundle with the printer to allow employing the scanner. The installation program could not uninstall the old version of Paperport in order to install the new version. The old version of PaperPort was installed for an earlier Brother MFC. |
The print excellent is fantastic. Really uncomplicated to set upon a network. The printer is packed effectively, and the set-up directions are really straight forward. Admittedly this isn't a "Con", but you surely require to know that this all-in-1 solution that comes in a big box. In the two weeks that we have had this printer, we have not had an concerns. It appears to be a strong choice for a medium use network printer. I would definitely buy this unit once again.
