Cons:None yet
Pros:CheapInternal headerNEC chipset Comment:
Bought this card to add USB 2.0 capability to an old PC. The card works fine without any issues so far. I also chose this card for the NEC chipset; more reliable than VIA. |

nGear 5 Port USB2.0 Controller Card PCI 4 Ext 1 INT W/ 4 Pin Internal USB Header
Cons:none
Pros:Simple plug and play on a Mac. NEC chipset. Comment:
Card works perfectly. A Tip for Mac people that want to add USB 2.0 is simply to buy any NEC chipset card. It is also recognized by the OS as built-in USB which is great since some external hardware for Macs needs this. |

nGear 5 Port USB2.0 Controller Card PCI 4 Ext 1 INT W/ 4 Pin Internal USB Header
Cons:Cheap, poor reliability, BSOD's
Pros:Cheap, it fits a pci slot.....uhhh Comment:
I've bought about a dozen over the last year, and about 1/3 are giving me bluescreens. Just a cheap, cheap card. Spend the couple bucks extra and get something better.3* because im too lazy to pull up month old invoices. Deserves 1. |

nGear 5 Port USB2.0 Controller Card PCI 4 Ext 1 INT W/ 4 Pin Internal USB Header
Cons:tin contact, didn't work at first
Pros:cheap, works fine eventually Comment:
The card is cheaply made, uses tin contact instead of gold contact but for the price I have no complain. The PC didn't recognize the card at first but eventually it works after I reseat the card. |

nGear 5 Port USB2.0 Controller Card PCI 4 Ext 1 INT W/ 4 Pin Internal USB Header
Cons:None so far
Pros:Easy to install Comment:
Ordered this with the ACOM hybrid drive...does the trick with no problems thus far. Nice solid product at a great price with a great delivery time. |
Nice to see the NEC chipset on there. 5 ports in total is nice but the internal header would be nice if it also had an indivudal pin type USB connection like a mother board so front USB on a case can be more easily hooked up. Price after PM is cheap enough that it is worth putting in a USB1.1 computer to give it new life but not too much cash that it isn't worth doing.
