nGear SuperSpeed 2.5IN SATA USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure
Cons:Slow right speed (might be the drive I used)Casing slightly dented, scratchedIncluded screwdriver inadequate
Pros:Fast read speedStandard USB "A" type connector Comment:
Bought this for use with a WD6400BEVT. In the box is the enclosure, four screws, mini screwdriver, nylon pouch, and USB 3.0 cable. I love that its connector is a standard male type A plug. If you lose or forget the cable you can use a USB 2.0 M/A cable. The speed is good, but only when copying from the device. When copying large files I got 72 MB/s copying from the drive, but only 40 MB/s copying to it (the drive inside might have been a factor - not sure). On USB 2.0, I only got 34 MB/s which is expected. The casing had a dent on the lip of the backside and some scuff marks on one side. The included screwdriver had a shallow head making it difficult to take the case apart. |

nGear SuperSpeed 2.5IN SATA USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure
Cons:Price When Not On Sale.
Pros:USB3, Full PCB, Drive Sits Snug, 2.5" Size, Screwdriver Included & 2 Pouches, Works Off 1 USB Port. Comment:
First Off, this unit saved me from an install of Win7 using an Acronis Backup. After installing this unit for a customer I created an Acronis Backup to it. Shortly after I hosed his laptop inadvertently and then used this unit to restore...IT WORKED so I have faith in it! Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Hard Drive slid in real easy unlike other units that have you jamming it in. The full PCB board is nice and adds to the unit being solid. Came with it's own mini philips screwdriver, 2 black vinyl protective cases and a USB3 cable with 1 large USB and a smaller USB to provide extra juice if needed. I didn't have to use the extra USB to power up my WD Blue 2.5" drive with this so I'm happy. I put the USB cable wrapped up in the 2nd bag with both USB ends sticking out and the drive in the other bag, wrapped an elastic around em and I have a nice clean drive to lug around. Of course this is plastic and what not and there's probably others out there but I don't think it's flimsy either. To me it feels like it's going to last the life of the drive and then some of course flinging it around won't help so. To me I'm 100% satisfied! |

nGear SuperSpeed 2.5IN SATA USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure
Cons:Feels cheap
Pros:CheapUSB 3.0 Comment:
Cheap USB 3.0 enclosure for a 2.5inch drive. I put an old SSD in mine. The enclosure is made of plastic and the build quality feels cheap compared to the Vantec USB 2.0 enclosure I had before. But this is so much faster. There are probably nicer enclosures out there, but this one is the cheapest USB 3.0 right now. |

nGear SuperSpeed 2.5IN SATA USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure
Cons:Drive didn't fit without slight modification
Pros:Easy to installWorks well Comment:
I purchased this enclosure to replace a Seagate FreeAgent Go drive that was beginning to fail. After putting the drive from the Free Agent Go into the nGear enclosure, the circuit board wouldn't slide all the way into the case.I had to modify the case slightly by cutting off the top part of the circuit board clips on the far end of the case that was pressing against the drive when it was attached to the circuit board. After that, everything went together easily, and the enclosure works well. |

nGear SuperSpeed 2.5IN SATA USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure
Cons:
No fan, not sure what DC power does?
Pros: USB 3.0, size, comes with carrying pouch Comment:
Decent enclosure for 2.5" drives with simple, clean looks. HDD does get a bit hot with prolonged use - could use a small fan. There's an input for an AC adapter, but I'm not sure what that does - doesn't mention anywhere in the instructions. This also comes with a mini screwdriver, USB 3.0 cable and carrying pouch. |

nGear SuperSpeed 2.5IN SATA USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure
Cons:
None
Pros: -Durable-Great built quality-USB3.0! Comment:
It's a great steal for $19.99! The build quality is amazing. I popped in my old 2.5" HDD and it works like a charm! The bonus of the USB3.0 is just a great investment for the future. |
Was a great value for the money, saved my a** when I screwed up my gaming comp (a game corrupted a registry file), so i just poped it in here and deleted the corrupted registry file, booted just fine. looking for 2.5" hard drive to fit into my budget so I can take advantage of it's small size (barely adds an inch to the length of the drive).
